[Today's feed opens to a slightly shaky image of the trees of Illex forest, courtesy of little Alto holding up Demyx's gear. The scene pans out a bit as they walk down the path they're currently taking. Demyx sighs, the camera looks down at him crossing his arms before the blond speaks up.]

Yeah, I'm okay. It was easier when we had the big guy toting us around.

[He looks up and meets the camera lens. Then stares at it for a few moments with a flat expression.]

You're filming me.

[The camera shakes up an down.]

I'm not supposed to talk to you while we're filming, Alto, you know that. People will think I'm nuts or something if I try to explain it...apparently. It doesn't make sense to me, either. Anyway, we need to get to Azalea to pick up Lea soon so...cut the feed and hand me the gear so I can look at the map again.

[A pause, the gear turns around to an up-close view of a Ralts, then shifts down and flips back to Demyx's face.]

Lea, we're almost back. Make sure you've got everything packed so we can hit the trail quick-like, okay?

Well, of course not all of them are pleasant... but the best ones will outweigh the worst ones, and make having them all worthwhile.

Oh, yeah. I know. It's just weird to be like this sometimes. Feeling things all over again one state at a time, it's just much less pleasant when every emotion is brand new for bad ones.

I'm sure you can handle it. And you have a world full of people to guide you if you need help.

I had someone who was helping me. She left.

[Whoopsie. That came out in the 'cold, emotionless half-being' tone. Sorry, Minnie, bad subject for him at the moment.]

[He sighs, then takes a breath. No, no. She couldn't have known, not her fault, don't be mad.]

It's...it's okay. Sorry. I just don't really- I mean, loss is...loss is the worst new thing so far.

... It doesn't get any easier, but it's better than not feeling anything. You're alive, and you're here.

...I miss Val, Minnie. I miss her too much to deal with this awful clump in my chest sometimes.

[Another sigh, more resigned and depressed this time.]

I hope she isn't gone forever. I really do, I don't really know if I can just move past my first friend.

There's no reason to move past her, and there's no reason to believe you won't meet again. Hearts are always connected. If there is a way to bring us here and back, we mustn't give up hope we can see each other again.

I hope you're right, Minnie. I really do... She was the first person to treat me like a human being and not a monster.

It's easy to say that now, and I'm glad you can. But you wouldn't think that if you hadn't looked past what we are on the surface. No one ever does...so we're alone. I don't blame you, Minnie, I just-

[A pause. Long enough to show the awkwardness of his feelings, to show how much he hated to think about the subject.]

I just wish people could understand us. Understand that all we wanted was to be human again. Help us, rather than hunt us...

Not, you're not alone! You've been given a second chance here, and it's thanks to this place that I got the chance to see what you and the others truly are. Val may have been the first, but she certainly won't be the last to see you for who you really are.
