So like, I've seen a couple of people talking about the weird swarms of psychic pokemon and all. I managed to snag one'a the little green blob guys. Alto says he's not a bad guy, but I haven't heard him say anything yet...

[He pauses, then talks away from the mic.]

Eh? Yeah, I figured. Think he'll warm up an' all?

[Another pause.]

Ah, alright. Well, just lemme know if you can sense any danger.

[Back to the mic.]

So... anybody know where these little guys come from?

Huh, well the dex says Sols can talk. Guess he's shy like Alto.

[Demyx looks over to the Ralts and tilts his head.]

So... he say anything to you?

[Alto shakes his head.]

I guess just shy..

[Quirks his head, but with the quiet chiming behind him, Lea turns to tap the Chimecho behind him.] But I've been wanting a psychic type since I first got here, the first time! Cause, I heard they can levitate.. and this one totally does it! [DO YOU WANT TO HEAR THE STORY OF WHY ISA BECAME A FLAREON INSTEAD OF AN ESPEON?]

They are really neat little dudes, huh? They've got all these awesome tricks and some of 'em can even talk to ya.

[Demyx glances over to Lea and grins a bit. He looks back at the Chimecho behind Lea for a moment, curious about the little one but still paying heed to Lea.]

So many different little ones, all bouncin' around this big ol' world...

[Why yes, certainly!]

Yeah.. I think someone said there's over two hundred? Probably a lot more since then. [Waving his hand beneath the floating psychic windchime, Lea turns then with a siiiiiigh.] I mean, the old guy back in town was telling us to catch one of every kind, but that's way too many to spend time with.

Uhh...Over two-hundred? Pfff...too much work for me, then.

[Demyx shrugs and turns his attention back to the windchime behind Lea.]

They sure do come in some interesting forms though, yeah? I wonder how many of 'em look like objects and stuff.

'How many pokemon do you want to catch?'

[Demyx turned his attention over to Alto again and tilted his head in thought.]

Dunno. I guess it depends on how many I need to for battles and gyms and stuff.

'Oh...How many do you want to see, then?'

...I dunno. However many I can, I guess. I mean, we're gunna be doing a lot of traveling I bet. It'll be fun to see the world and wander around some.

'Will we go to many towns? I don't like towns very much...too many people, too many feelings.'

Lots'a people means a lotta emotions, though, yeah? It makes sense...But, we are gunna have to go to a lot of places for supplies and gyms and stuff...sorry, Alto.

[Alto slumps a bit, his head falling foward some in exasperation at the thought of constantly dealing with the massive emotions of entire cities.]

[ Oh dear. Oh. Dear. Demyx is -- well, Valeria supposes she shouldn't be surprised, but that doesn't change the fact that, to a good portion of the audience, Demyx is a stranger talking to himself on the Connect. Shifting so that she's leaning back against the counter of the Violet PokéMart, she cuts to the chase. The rest can wait. ]

Demyx, you should probably be a little more careful about who you let see you talking to Alto. Not everyone is aware or conscious of the fact that your Pokémon is a telepath and people might get the wrong idea.

[...and cut to Demyx, turning to the camera like a deer in headlights with just the perfect look of shock and confusion.]

...Seriously?

[Demyx turns back to Alto, who then shrugs.]

'I was only speaking because you asked me about the pokemon.'

[Demyx slumps and groans, then reaches up to scratch the back of his head.]

Ah, maaaan... I wasn't even thinking about that. I caught one of the little green blobs floating around and figured I'd ask about it. I asked Alto if he could communicate with the new guy.

Just be more careful in the future, okay? What'd Alto say, anyway?

He said, "This one seems unwilling to speak currently, but I don't feel any malevolence. Maybe he's insulted that we won? I used confusion, then he accidentally hurt himself pretty badly, and you caught him by luck...We could have hurt his feelings."

That sounds possible, yeah. It could also be that he doesn't know you that well. Every Pokémon has its own personality. He could just be shy.

Guess I'll try talking to him with Alto. Then maybe we can go train some while you're at the 'mart. I'll just apologize to him, see if that helps.

...actually, what'cha think would be a good name for him?

I'd say that depends on his personality, too. I try not to name my own until I've had a little bit to observe them... unless they really, really make a strong first impression or very closely remind me of someone or something. He... looks kind of like a 'Squishy,' though.

'Demyx?'

[Demyx quickly turns back to Alto, who is slowly approaching with the Solosis.]

'I think he's calmed down a bit, but it looks like I was right. I...think you humans would say he has a very...serious temperament?'

[Demyx scratches his head for a moment.]

...What's that mean? He's like...a really serious guy or somethin'?

'Essentially, yes. His pride was wounded from our victory, as it was a very humiliating experience from his standpoint...Maybe we should apologize together?'

Guess we could, wanna try talking to him for a bit?

'I believe that would be in our best interests for...umm...cohesion.'

...'Kay, then. Hey, you know, if he's a serious guy maybe I should call him 'Grave' or 'Capello.'

Hey, Val. What'cha think? Alto says he's a serious kinda guy, and that he's a bit miffed 'cuz we won by a fluke. I'm gunna see if I can't talk to the lil' guy and smooth stuff out.

That's probably for the best. You're going to be in it together for the long, after all. I'll leave you guys to it.

[Demyx comes back to the camera, looking...a little...flustered? Embarrassed, perhaps?]

So...uhh. Grave wanted a rematch. Alto and I decided it was best, and we'd let him go if he felt like we weren't up to snuff.

[He slowly reaches up and scratches the back of his head sheepishly, to put it mildly, he's pretty much gobsmacked.]

...It went down exactly the same way. Ralts used confusion, and the poor guy ran smack into a tree and knocked himself cold. When he woke up, he looked me in the eye and told me that to have lost twice in the same way is inexcusable, so he's going to follow us.

Bein' honest here, I'm not sure how I'm feelin' about it all. He's got a sorta gruff sounding voice, so I'm callin' him Grave after all. Capello will wait for another lil' guy.

Well, you don't have to decide that now. It sounds like Grave is going to be expecting a good bit out of you, though, so keep that in mind. You're friends, but you're also his trainer, if you know what I mean. It's your job to lead these guys.
